Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Transportation is seeking personnel to assist in managing a major highway construction program in the CHATS/BCDCOG region. You will work under the Program Manager and Sr.

Assistant Program Manager in RPG-1 Lowcountry, helping develop projects, manage schedules, and monitor funds in the STIP. You will represent SCDOT in communications with stakeholders, assist in utility coordination, and support consultant contracts and other program duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Science and Management with 3 years of engineering or construction management work experience.
• A valid motor vehicle operator's license is required.
• Physical demands include sitting or standing at a desk for extended periods; may travel and work outside normal hours or in hazardous environments.

Responsibilities

• Assists with management of major highway construction programs across multiple projects.
• Directs development of multiple projects and monitors compliance with schedules and fiscal resources.
• Assists in development of C-Program projects and coordinates with local CTCs.
• Assists Sr. Assistant Program Manager and begins to work independently on project development processes.
• Ensures programmed obligation dates and funds align with fiscal year commitments in the STIP.
• Establishes preliminary project schedules and works to resolve delays.
• Represents SCDOT with stakeholders in written and in-person communications.
• Assists in Utility Coordination with the Utility Coordinator and State Utility Engineer at various stages.
• Assists in Consultant Contract preparation and performs other related duties as assigned.
