Job summary

Leidos is seeking an Engineering People Manager to support 15-20 engineers across one or more Agile Release Trains in a hybrid work model (3 days onsite, 2 days remote). The role emphasizes career development, performance management, and workforce health within a SAFe/Agile environment.

The position requires U.S. citizenship, ability to obtain a Public Trust, and a background investigation. Compensation aligns with government contracting standards and pay ranges.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business or related field with 5+ years total professional experience or a Master’s degree with 3+ years total experience.
• Minimum 2+ years of direct people management experience including performance evaluations and career development.
• Engineering/technical background to understand work context and challenges of managed personnel.
• Experience with performance management processes, goal setting, and feedback delivery.
• Experience supporting hiring processes including job description development, interviewing, and candidate evaluation.
• Strong conflict resolution and interpersonal skills in sensitive personnel situations.
• Familiarity with HR processes and workforce administration in government contracting.
• Excellent communication skills with direct reports and stakeholders.
• Experience managing geographically distributed or hybrid teams.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust; U.S. citizenship required; successful background investigations.

Responsibilities

• Manage 15-20 Leidos engineers across ARTs as direct people manager.
• Conduct regular one-on-ones, quarterly check-ins, and annual performance reviews.
• Drive career development plans and identify growth opportunities.
• Coordinate staffing and resource allocation with ART leadership and program management.
• Support hiring activities including requisition development and onboarding.
• Monitor workforce health indicators and address concerns proactively.
• Facilitate conflict resolution within and across teams.
• Collaborate with ART leads to understand team dynamics and needs.
• Ensure compliance with HR policies and timekeeping requirements.
• Advocate for recognition, promotions, and market-aligned compensation.
• Support organizational change initiatives and communicate updates.
• Champion an AI‑first engineering culture to improve productivity and quality.
