Job summary

Leidos is seeking an Engineering People Manager to support the Air Traffic Business Area and the L-CAP platform. This hybrid role requires 3 days onsite and 2 days remote work, with responsibilities spanning people leadership, performance reviews, and workforce planning across multiple ARTs.

You will drive career development, coordinate staffing with program management, and participate in hiring activities.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher with 5+ years total experience (Master's with 3+ years acceptable).
2+ years direct people management including performance evaluations and career development.
Experience with hiring: job descriptions, interviewing, candidate evaluation.
Strong conflict resolution and interpersonal skills.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust; US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

Manage 15-20 Leidos engineers across ARTs as their direct people manager.
Conduct regular one-on-ones, quarterly check-ins, and annual performance reviews.
Drive career development plans and identify growth opportunities and stretch assignments.
Coordinate staffing and resource allocation with ART leadership.
Support hiring activities including requisition development and onboarding.
Monitor workforce health indicators and address concerns proactively.
Facilitate conflict resolution within and across teams.
Collaborate with ART leads to understand team dynamics and personnel needs.
Ensure compliance with HR policies, timekeeping, and personnel administration.
Advocate for recognition, promotions, and market-aligned compensation.
Support organizational change initiatives and communicate updates to reports.
Champion AI-first engineering culture by applying AI-assisted development practices.
