Job summary

Leidos Inc. seeks an Engineering People Manager to support 15–20 engineers across ARTs in a hybrid role (3 days onsite, 2 days remote) at locations including Gaithersburg, MD; Eagan, MN; or Egg Harbor Township, NJ.

You will mentor talent, drive performance reviews, and coordinate staffing with program leadership, while advancing AI-first software culture and ensuring compliance with HR policies and security requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher with 5+ years total experience, or a Master's with 3+ years.
• Direct people management experience including performance evaluations.
• Engineering/technical background to understand managed personnel.
• Experience with hiring processes, candidate evaluation, and onboarding.
• Familiarity with HR processes in a government contracting environment.
• Excellent communication across leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust; US citizenship.
• Experience managing distributed or hybrid teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage 15-20 engineers across one or more ARTs as direct people manager.
• Conduct regular one-on-ones, quarterly check-ins, and annual reviews.
• Drive career development plans, training, and stretch assignments.
• Coordinate staffing and resource allocation with ART leadership.
• Support hiring activities including requisitions, interviews, and onboarding.
• Monitor engagement, retention risk, and workload balance; address concerns.
• Facilitate conflict resolution across teams and with stakeholders.
• Advise on team dynamics, personnel needs, and organizational changes.
• Champion AI-first engineering culture and emerging practices.
