Job summary

Leidos is seeking an Engineering People Manager in the Air Traffic Business Area to support the L-CAP platform. You will lead 15–20 engineers, focusing on career development, performance management, and workforce health in a hybrid, 3 days onsite/2 remote model across Gaithersburg MD, Eagan MN, or Egg Harbor Township NJ.

In this role, you’ll partner with ART leadership and Product Owners to align staffing, manage HR processes, and drive an AI-first engineering culture that improves productivity,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, CS, Business, or related field; 5+ years total experience or Master’s with 3+ years.
• At least 2 years of direct people management experience.
• Engineering/technical background to understand managed work.
• Experience with performance management processes and goal setting.
• Experience staffing/hiring processes and interviewing.
• Familiarity with government contracting HR policies.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust; US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Manage 15–20 engineers across one or more ARTs as their direct people manager.
• Conduct regular one-on-ones, quarterly check-ins, and annual performance reviews.
• Drive individualized career development plans and growth opportunities.
• Coordinate staffing and resource allocation with ART leadership and program management.
• Support hiring activities including requisition development, interviews, and onboarding.
• Monitor workforce health indicators and address concerns.
• Facilitate conflict resolution within and across teams.
• Collaborate with ART leads and Product Owners to understand team dynamics.
• Ensure HR policies and timekeeping compliance.
• Advocate for recognition and compensation adjustments based on performance.
• Support organizational change initiatives and communicate updates.
• Champion an AI-first engineering culture to improve productivity and delivery.
