Job summary

Leidos is seeking an Engineering People Manager to lead 15–20 engineers within the Air Traffic Business Area of the Homeland Sector. The role supports the Leidos Common Automation Platform (L-CAP) in a SAFe/Agile setting, with a hybrid on-site/remote schedule (3 days onsite, 2 days remote) across Gaithersburg, MD; Eagan, MN; or Egg Harbor Township, NJ.

Qualifications

• Direct people management experience including performance evaluations
• Strong understanding of HR processes and workforce administration
• Experience supporting hiring processes and candidate evaluation
• Familiarity with government contracting environment policies
• Excellent communication with leaders and cross-functional stakeholders
• Experience managing hybrid or distributed teams
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust and U.S. citizenship

Responsibilities

• Manage 15–20 Leidos engineers across one or more ARTs as their direct people manager
• Conduct regular one-on-ones, quarterly checks, and annual performance reviews
• Drive individualized career development plans and identify growth opportunities
• Coordinate staffing and resource allocation with ART leadership and program management
• Support hiring activities including requisition development and onboarding
• Monitor workforce health indicators and address concerns
• Facilitate conflict resolution within and across teams
• Advocate for recognition, promotions, and compensation adjustments
• Collaborate with ART leads to understand team dynamics
• Champion AI-first engineering culture and capabilities
