Job summary

Arizona Public Service seeks a motivated Professional Engineer to lead an expanding team within APS Generation Non-Nuclear. The Supervisor of Engineering Oversight will oversee engineering services for the department, managing a roughly $250M annual capital budget and working with customers on proposals and contracts.

The role requires a four-year engineering degree from an ABET-accredited program, five years of experience, and strong people skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or related applied science from ABET-accredited institution, IEA recognized, or ABET MRA.
Five years of engineering experience.
Broad knowledge of engineering disciplines related to electric utilities.
Excellent people management, communication (oral and written), and organizational skills.
Understanding of contract development and negotiation; proven customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Supervise engineering work to ensure technical soundness, cost effectiveness, and schedule/budget adherence.
Develop plans and proposals meeting customer needs, profitability, and appropriate risk.
Monitor expenditures and ensure prudent use of company resources.
Maintain a competent multi-discipline department; hire, supervise, evaluate and develop staff.
Provide consulting, maintain industry relations, and investigate new technologies.
Prepare detailed lists and cost estimates; maintain plant documents.
