Job summary

Arizona Public Service Company in Phoenix seeks a Manager, Project Engineering New Generation to lead engineering execution for new generation capital projects. You will direct detailed design through turnover, ensuring safety, quality, and performance targets across gas, solar, and energy storage programs.

You will build and mentor a team of engineers and specialists, coordinate with EPCs, Owner Engineers, OEMs, and internal groups, and maintain APS standards while meeting schedule and budget

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
• Master's degree may substitute for one year of experience.
• Three (3) years in a supervisory role managing teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering execution from detailed design through commissioning and turnover.
• Manage and develop a team of project engineers and technical specialists.
• Coordinate design activities among EPC contractors, Owner Engineers, fleet engineering, OEMs and other stakeholders.
• Oversee engineering deliverables to meet codes, standards, requirements and APS expectations.
• Support technical decision making and risk mitigation for project leadership.
• Provide engineering leadership during construction, commissioning, startup and testing.
• Interface with Fleet Engineering and Operations to incorporate lifecycle requirements.
• Direct the activities of external engineering providers and ensure aligned services.
• Drive continuous improvement of engineering standards and processes.
