Job summary

Collins Aerospace seeks a leading Operations Manufacturing Engineering Manager (Test & Electromechanical Systems) to direct a multidisciplinary team responsible for test equipment and electromechanical systems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, quality improvement, and the ability to drive reliability across multiple product lines within the Data Links IPT, with onsite work in Cedar Rapids, IA and potential 10-15% travel.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Coach, mentor and develop performance of test, electrical, software and manufacturing engineers and technicians.
• Oversee design, prototyping, testing, and deployment of test and electromechanical systems and equipment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues, enhance uptime and drive continuous improvement.
• Establish and standardize engineering processes, documentation and best practices for equipment design, validation, and maintenance.
• Support implementation of smart manufacturing initiatives and Industry 4.0 technologies to enhance productivity.
• Manage capital projects involving test solutions and automation or process upgrades.
• Define and monitor KPIs related to equipment uptime and project ROI.
• Drive preventive and predictive maintenance programs for test solutions.
