Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager in Cedar Rapids, IA to lead a team of test technicians and engineers in production qualification testing. You will hire, mentor, and review staff, manage budgets, and ensure projects meet schedules and objectives.

Occasional travel may be required. The role requires a STEM degree (or advanced degree) with significant engineering leadership experience and the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience.
• Ability to obtain a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.
• Prior EMI, Nuclear Engineering, or Lab Management experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, guidance, hiring, and mentoring to new engineers and technicians.
• Prepare/deliver performance reviews and coach staff.
• Plan salaries, reward and recognize individuals, and manage staff performance.
• Identify staff, facilities, and equipment for project execution and ensure budgets and schedules are met.
• Lead cross functional teams in qualification testing of aerospace products and ensure project execution aligns with cost objectives.
