Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Bellevue, IA, seeks a Manufacturing Electrical/Test Engineer to verify and sustain test processes, equipment, and procedures used in manufacturing. Key duties include improving test yields, analyzing failures, and reducing downtime across avionics test systems.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must be a flexible team member, be a self-starter, and able to multitask.
• Experience providing technical leadership during the manufacture and test of avionics products.
• Basic knowledge of software programming.
• Basic statistics. Understands Parametric Process control and versed in Six Sigma control methods.
• Working knowledge of Lean electronics.
• Manufacturing Experience; Communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Participate in cross-functional team efforts to improve test yields, production throughput, test capacity, and overall product quality.
• Identify component test failure trends and perform root cause analysis. Implement corrective actions to resolve.
• Study performance and reliability of existing test equipment and establish programs to decrease downtime.
• Analyze test approaches for cost reduction, test efficiency, test yields, and capacity opportunities.
• Provide capacity planning and utilization analysis for accurate test equipment needs.
