Scribd, Inc. seeks an engineering manager for Content Foundations to own real-time, AI-native ingestion of content at scale. You will lead a founding team of backend and AI data engineers, set platform standards, and partner with product to drive the roadmap across trust & safety, content understanding, and AI platform teams.

You will champion security, reliability, and observability as core design principles while shaping the team culture and roadmap from day one.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering with leadership experience.
• Experience in backend, data infrastructure or platform teams.
• Deep knowledge of high-throughput distributed systems.
• Interest in applying AI in production systems.
• Ability to design interfaces, SLAs, and trusted platforms.
• Security-focused mindset and reliable on-call practices.
• Strong cross-functional communication.
