Old Dominion Brush Company (ODB) and NiteHawk, operating companies of Alamo Group, seek an experienced Engineering Manager in Richmond, VA to lead product design and manufacturing engineering for our local operation.

You will oversee development, testing, documentation, and production launches, and drive Lean and continuous-improvement initiatives to improve quality, performance, safety, cost competitiveness, and on-time delivery.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree required in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
• 5+ years of product design and development experience in manufacturing.
• 2-3 years supervisory, project-management, and budget-management experience.
• Experience with mobile equipment, hydraulic systems, steel fabrication, welding, machining, forming and assembly.
• Strong knowledge of 3D CAD, engineering documentation, BOM creation, stress analysis, material selection and structural design.
• Lean or World Class Manufacturing practices incl. JIT, continuous flow, Kanban and manufacturing cells.
• Strong communication, planning, problem-solving and leadership skills.
• Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments; travel may be required.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and develop the Design Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering teams.
• Manage new-product development from concept through prototype, testing, documentation, and production implementation.
• Ensure designs meet performance, structural integrity, manufacturability, quality, and cost objectives.
• Oversee CAD models, drawings, BOMs, product specifications, and engineering documentation.
• Support material, component, tooling, equipment, and manufacturing process selection.
• Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Marketing, Technical Services, dealers, and customers to resolve issues.
• Drive Lean and continuous-improvement efforts, including flow manufacturing, Kanban, cells, labor productivity, and WIP reduction.
• Develop manufacturing strategies, capital plans, plant-layout improvements, and departmental budgets.
• Monitor engineering projects, costs, labor standards, metrics, and schedules.
• Provide leadership promoting accountability, collaboration, safety, innovation, and continuous improvement.
