Job summary

Confido, the AI infrastructure powering modern CPG, is seeking an Engineering Manager in New York City. You will directly lead a team of engineers, shaping careers, roadmaps, and delivery while partnering with the CTO on org design and scalable practices.

You bring 3+ years of people management, 5+ years as an individual contributor, and a track record of scaling early-stage startups. You’ll stay close to code in a fast, founder-led environment with minimal process.

Qualifications

• 3+ years directly managing software engineers.
• 5+ years as hands-on software engineer.
• Experience scaling startups around Series A/B.
• Ability to discuss design reviews with senior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Directly manage a team of 6–10 engineers with 1:1s and career growth.
• Own delivery for the team's roadmap and unblock blockers.
• Collaborate with CTO on org design and management practices.
• Stay close to the code by joining architecture and design reviews.
• Build hiring loops and recruit engineers in a competitive market.
• Identify and grow future leads and managers from within the team.
