Job summary

Arizona Public Service (APS) seeks a Director of Project Delivery New Generation to lead mid- to late-stage execution of the generation capital program. You will shepherd projects from development through EPC procurement, construction, commissioning and handoff to Operations, across solar, storage, gas-fired and other generation tech.

This leadership role operates within APS’s governance framework, guiding procurement, schedule, budget, risk, and contractor management while driving improvements

Qualifications

• Four-year Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, construction engineering or project management.
• 12 years of progressive experience in large capital project delivery (EPC/EPCM) with at least 5 years in supervision at program/portfolio level.
• In lieu of a Bachelor's, 16 years of related experience or coursework.
• Experience managing EPC/EPCM contracts with project values >$100M.
• Proven track record delivering utility-scale generation or large industrial facilities.

Responsibilities

• Establishes zero-incident safety culture across construction sites and enforces APS safety standards.
• Leads EPC/EPCM procurement, negotiation, award and contract administration.
• Directs construction execution across multiple generation projects with quality oversight.
• Coordinates with Supply Chain for portfolio-level requirements and supplier governance.
• Manages interconnection milestones, schedules, budgets and risk mitigation.
• Ensures compliance with NERC/WECC reliability standards and environmental permits.
