Northrop Grumman seeks an Engineering Manager level 1 to lead an engineering team in Sunnyvale, CA, focusing on power generation systems for naval submarines. You will guide mechanical, electrical, aerothermal, acoustics, structures, and systems engineers throughout the product lifecycle.

The role requires leadership in design, verification, costing, staffing, and process improvements to deliver against cost and schedule targets. On-site work and DoD clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM with 5 years of engineering experience or Master's degree with 3 years of engineering experience.
• US Citizenship required and ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance.
• On-site work in Sunnyvale, CA (100% on-site).
• Relocation assistance may be available and travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate a 15+ person engineering team.
• Provide project and technical oversight of design activities.
• Prepare cost estimates and review proposal content for internal and external customers.
• Drive employee development, staffing, and strategic hiring.
• Oversee design processes and ensure hardware, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic subsystems meet requirements.
