Northrop Grumman is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Manager 2 to lead a dispersed Marine Systems team across Sunnyvale, CA and Ocean Springs, MS. The role drives requirements development, verification, mechanical design, and test support for a complex Navy hardware product, with responsibilities in staffing and performance management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with 9 years of engineering experience; OR a Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with 7 years of engineering experience; OR a PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with 5 years of engineering experience
• Must be a US Citizen
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret clearance (or higher)
• Strong fundamentals in Design Engineering
• Experience in systems engineering
• Experience leading teams
• Production issues resolution
• Strong leadership qualities, including excellent communication and collaboration, team engagement, and organizational skills.

Responsabilités

• Provide project and technical oversight of design activities performed by the group
• Prepare cost estimates, provide proposal inputs, and review proposal content for both internal and external customers
• Guide the mechanical design and development of fabricated and machined components, and electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic subsystems
• Increase design engineering competencies through employee development and strategic hiring
• Support test, qualification, and delivery activities, including review of test plans, procedures, and reports
