Job summary

Socket is hiring an Engineering Manager to help lead our engineering team as we scale. You will work closely with engineers on technical challenges while helping the team navigate ambiguity, make thoughtful decisions, and deliver with speed and quality.

We’re looking for someone who can think strategically, stay close to the technical work to understand trade-offs, and guide technical decisions through influence rather than authority.

Qualifications

• Experience leading engineering teams in a fast-moving environment.
• Ability to engage in architectural discussions and guide trade-offs.
• Strong product sense with ability to talk to customers and translate inputs into product direction.
• Excellent communication to keep teams and stakeholders aligned.
• Experience managing in a remote environment, ideally with a globally-distributed team.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a high-performing team of engineers with trust, ownership, and autonomy.
• Partner with engineering and go-to-market teams to ensure solving the right problems.
• Stay engaged in architecture, trade-offs, and complexity; guide decisions without dictating every solution.
• Improve how we work by identifying bottlenecks and automating toil.
• Bring clarity to ambiguous problems and balance long-term tech investments with near-term business needs.
