Job summary

APX is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Engineering Department, ensuring the design, development, and support of custom sheet metal enclosures and fabricated products from concept to production.

The role partners with Sales, Estimating, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations, driving continuous improvement and cost-effective solutions while building a high-performing team reporting to the Director of Engineering.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership and people-management experience in engineering teams.
• Strong project management and ability to align design with manufacturability.
• Experience with CAD and design standards across metal enclosures.
• Coachable, with focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop the Engineering team toward accountability and continuous improvement.
• Set department goals, priorities, and performance expectations.
• Oversee design and development of custom sheet metal enclosures and assemblies.
• Ensure drawings, BOMs, and documentation meet standards and customer specs.
• Partner with Production, Quality, Sales, and Supply Chain to drive launches.
• Lead project prioritization, timelines, budgets, and cross-functional coordination.
