Job summary

CompanyCam in the United States is seeking a Senior Software Engineer and engineering leader to grow a high-performing team delivering reliable, scalable code for contractors. You will mentor engineers, own delivery, participate in reviews, and balance fast delivery with technical health while shaping product direction.

You will balance hands-on coding with strategic oversight, drive engineering standards, and collaborate across Product, Design, and Data to deliver meaningful customer outcomes.

Qualifications

• Senior software engineer with production codebase experience.
• Experience managing engineers or leading teams as a tech lead or project lead.
• Comfort in a management role without stepping on your team's ownership.
• Experience interviewing engineers and contributing to hiring decisions.
• Experience with product development.
• Ability to facilitate technical discussions and align on implementation approaches.
• Monitor engineering execution against architecture and team goals.
• Balance delivery pressure with technical health and invest in infrastructure.
• Translate technical concepts to business context.
• Strong standards: code review, testing, CI.
• Knowledge of security, data protection, and compliance.
• Comfort in a 24/7 on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Own performance, retention, engagement, and outcomes for your direct reports.
• Provide timely feedback and coaching via 1:1s.
• Build processes and culture that let your team succeed.
• Identify and remove blockers to execution.
• Build onboarding plans for engineers to ramp up quickly.
• Stay hands-on with the codebase: reviews, fixes, pairing.
• Author well-scoped features to unblock delivery.
• Participate in code, design, and product reviews with actionable feedback.
• Model strong engineering practices: commits, tests, PRs.
• Own feasibility input during discovery and planning.
• Bridge cross-team alignment and department initiatives.
• Drive alignment with partners and other teams.
• Champion department-level initiatives within your team.
