Job summary

Ortho2, LLC. seeks an Engineering Manager to lead a ~10-person software team.

You’ll own growth, performance, and the health of how the team works, while staying hands-on in architecture discussions, code reviews, and occasional deployments. You’ll collaborate with the VP of Development on architecture and strategy, guiding a mix of .NET, WPF/WCF legacy, and modern .NET microservices, React and SvelteKit front-ends on Azure.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building software, with meaningful depth in .NET and React a plus.
• 3+ years managing software engineers, including hiring and performance outcomes.
• Track record of raising a team’s productivity through coaching and honest decisions.
• Comfort operating without a playbook: adapt processes as needs change.
• Fluency with AI-assisted development and its impact on team work.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and grow the development team: 1:1s, growth plans, performance management, hiring.
• Stay hands-on: participate in architecture discussions, review code, and occasionally deploy.
• Own team capability: assess skills, invest in people, and make hard calls when needed.
• Champion modern engineering practice: establish quality standards and AI tooling adoption.
• Keep delivery healthy with lightweight, adaptive processes and pragmatic governance.
• Represent engineering in technical discussions with vendors and enterprise customers.
