Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautical Systems (NGAS) is seeking a Support Equipment Design Engineering Manager 2 for the Melbourne, FL location. The role leads design, manufacturing, testing, and qualification of Peculiar and Common Support Equipment for aircraft programs.

The candidate will build and guide a team, manage program schedules and budgets, and ensure successful integration, verification, and supplier/customer coordination. Clearance eligibility and strong engineering leadership are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in STEM with 9+ years or Master’s with 7+ years.
• 5 years of demonstrated experience in mechanical and/or electrical design, manufacturing, and test.
• Experience in proposal and estimating.
• Experience with IPT/Program Management processes (CAM, EVMS, scheduling, risk management).
• Ability to obtain and maintain Final US Government Secret clearance.
• Ability to obtain SAP clearance within a reasonable time.

Responsibilities

• Manage design concepts and lead preliminary and critical design reviews.
• Mentor development of test documentation.
• Oversee integration, validation, and verification activities.
• Collaborate with suppliers and customers to ensure effective coordination.
• Develop and execute program schedules and budgets in alignment with processes.
• Plan and manage Earned Value Management (EVM) for assigned work packages.
