Job summary

Nightsky San Luis Obispo is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead daily engineering operations and a growing maintenance team. You will oversee critical building systems, safety compliance, and vendor coordination to ensure reliable guest experiences.

The role requires hands-on experience with MEP systems, strong leadership, and the ability to plan preventive maintenance programs. This is a full-time on-site position at Nightsky in San Luis Obispo, CA.

Qualifications

• Five or more years in hotel, resort, facilities or property maintenance with leadership.
• Hands-on knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC and life-safety systems.
• Experience coordinating with vendors and contractors to complete projects.
• Strong safety mindset, problem-solving, and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily engineering operations while remaining involved in maintenance and repairs.
• Hire, train, coach, schedule, and evaluate the engineering team with clear priorities.
• Organize work by safety impact, guest needs, and asset protection.
• Maintain and troubleshoot building systems including mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and controls.
• Oversee guest tents, restaurant equipment, and back-of-house facilities with vendors.
• Develop and manage a preventive maintenance program with schedules and records.
• Respond promptly to guest-impacting concerns and coordinate with Front Office.
• Lead on-call coverage for emergencies and critical system failures.
• Coordinate with other departments to align maintenance with operations.
