Job summary

San Diego Mission Bay Resort is seeking an Assistant Director of Engineering to work with the Director of Engineering to drive improvements across our 18-acre property. You will lead a skilled engineering team, stay hands-on in the field, and elevate safety and guest experience at the resort.

The role emphasizes proactive maintenance, staff development, and a strong focus on environmental initiatives. A dynamic, hospitality-focused leader who values teamwork will thrive here.

Qualifications

8+ years building maintenance experience.
Proficient computer skills.
Experience leading teams in a hotel or resort.
Experience in a union environment is desirable.

Responsibilities

Lead proactive maintenance programs and respond to guest, member, and staff needs.
Recruit, train, and motivate a diverse engineering team.
Support and advance the resort’s Green Initiative to reduce environmental impact.
Elevate property condition, safety, and guest experience through detail and teamwork.
Foster a positive, high-energy work environment with professionalism and fun.
