Job summary

Monetary is a fast-growing platform powering treasury and capital markets across the public sector. We are seeking an experienced software engineering leader in Charlotte to mentor teams, ship critical features, and drive AI-assisted development in a high-growth environment.

You will ramp up as an IC, model best practices, coach engineers, and align cross-functional partners to deliver meaningful outcomes with a strong focus on execution and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience coaching and delegating to others.
• Experience with Ruby on Rails, React, and SQL.
• Experience with front-end, back-end, and databases.
• Experience using AI-assisted development in a real engineering workflow or enthusiasm to learn rapidly.
• Comfort operating in a high-growth environment with shifting priorities.
• Experience driving significant change.

Responsibilities

• Ship code and act as technical lead on projects.
• Stay hands-on to model good work and ship with the team.
• Identify blockers and improve processes to boost outcomes.
• Align and commit the team around the work.
• Collaborate with other teams across the org.
• Recruit engineers who help the team improve.
• Own onboarding and ramp new hires quickly.
• Lead adoption of AI-assisted development.
• Coach engineers to avoid unnecessary complexity.
• Be hands-on to understand what is going well and what isn’t.
