Job summary

Cleo is hiring an Engineering Manager to lead and develop high-performing engineering teams across multiple product squads. You will partner with Product and technical leadership to drive delivery, team health and longer‑term strategy.

You will mentor engineers, own delivery outcomes, and shape priorities with a focus on responsible, scalable growth for Cleo’s AI-enabled financial assistant platform.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading engineering teams and driving performance
• Solid Rails depth to guide engineers in production environments
• Experience delivering across multiple squads with strategic priorities
• Track record of hiring, coaching and developing engineers
• Strong technical judgment and ability to enable decisions without owning every call
• Experience partnering with product and tech leadership to align on priorities
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills
• Experience building healthy, inclusive, high-performing teams
• Alignment with company values and engineering principles

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop engineers across multiple squads, enabling growth and high performance
• Own team health, performance and engagement through regular 1:1s and clear feedback
• Partner with Product, Tech Leads, and Staff Engineers to shape priorities and strategy
• Own delivery outcomes across squads, remove blockers, keep focus on high-impact work
• Translate company priorities into clear goals and direction for teams
• Uphold engineering principles while enabling strong technical decision-making
• Hire and retain engineers, fostering inclusive teams
• Improve cross-team collaboration across Engineering, Product and other disciplines
• Drive learning, development and ownership across the org
