Job summary

DAT Freight & Analytics is hiring an Engineering Manager to lead Broker Tech, the org building automation for brokers to price, match, onboard, book, track, and settle freight. You will lead 1–2 engineering teams, including US-based staff and contractors, owning delivery end to end.

You will guide architecture, manage performance, and collaborate with Product Management to translate roadmaps into shipped work, while upholding engineering standards and fostering growth.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant industry leadership experience.
• Proven ability to own end-to-end delivery from planning to maintenance.
• Experience leading both FTE and contractor engineers; strong people leadership.

Responsibilities

• Own Delivery: plan sprints, refine backlog, forecast delivery, manage scope.
• Lead the People Side: run 1:1s, set expectations, reviews, growth plans, hiring.
• Oversee Contractor Teams: ensure same delivery/quality as FTEs.
• Weigh In on Architecture: guide design and implementation, flag blockers.
• Uphold the Bar: enforce engineering standards, identify gaps, refine processes.
• Partner Across the Org: translate roadmap to shipped work with Product; remove impediments.
• Share Knowledge: prevent single points of failure.
