Job summary

Pliant is seeking an Engineering Manager for Developer Experience to define and lead a brand-new platform team focused on making engineers productive from day one. This founding role involves setting the golden path, CI/CD patterns, and self-serve environments, while hands-on coding remains important as the team grows.

You will own tooling, AI harness, and hiring to build a high-performing DX team that ships reliable platform capabilities for product teams.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software development experience with Python, including 2+ years in leadership/management.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD systems and platform tooling.
• Experience with Kubernetes-based platforms and related APIs.
• Experience hiring engineers and building a team from scratch.
• Security-first thinking and PCI DSS/SOC2 familiarity mentioned.
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead a brand-new Developer Experience platform engineering team.
• Own the golden path, CI/CD templates, and onboarding flows.
• Maintain AI tooling harness and standardize AI-assisted development tooling.
• Build the team from zero, including hiring and culture shaping.
• Hands-on coding and architectural decisions in early phase.
