Job summary

Thrivent Financial seeks a Manager of Engineering to lead a product team delivering account management, portfolio tracking, and wealth services. You will mentor technologists, set strategy, and drive adoption of modern engineering practices while aligning to Thrivent standards.

You will work with product managers and stakeholders to shape roadmaps, review designs, and ensure high-quality delivery across platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
• 8+ years in IT with 5+ years in wealth management/portfolio solutions.
• 3+ years of management/supervisory experience in IT.
• Proven leadership in multidiscipline teams and projects.
• Excellent communication with internal/external stakeholders.
• Experience with Python, AWS, data tooling and modern data architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design and review technical solutions and guide architecture decisions.
• Collaborate with Product Manager on initiatives, epics, and roadmaps.
• Lead sprint demos and ensure outcomes align with goals.
• Mentor and upskill a growing engineering team for modern practices.
• Promote DevOps, observability, and incident response readiness.
• Partner with vendors and build governance around tech choices.
