Job summary

Grata is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a data product pillar, shaping data ingestion, enrichment, validation, and serving of Grata's private-market datasets. You’ll operate at the intersection of data engineering, product, AI-enabled automation, and scalable platform engineering to deliver fresh, accurate, and actionable data for dealmaking teams.

The role emphasizes management and leadership with hands-on technical guidance when needed.

Qualifications

• Experience leading engineering teams that build data-intensive products or data platforms.
• Strong comfort with Python, SQL, and backend services in a data-heavy environment.
• Experience designing and operating ETL/ELT pipelines and data quality systems.
• Understanding data modeling, entity resolution, schema evolution, reliability and observability.
• Proficiency with AI-driven and agentic coding workflows and evaluation of outputs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver data and product outcomes with value, coverage, freshness, and quality.
• Coach engineers on growth plans and promotions via established pathways.
• Establish healthy team practices: planning, execution, quality, data validation.
• Represent Engineering in cross-functional ceremonies with Product, Data, AI, Design.
• Balance delivery with long-term technical health and data platform debt.
• Translate product and data vision into executable plans and measurable outcomes.
• Guide architecture and unblock teams in an AI-enabled environment.
• Foster ownership, psychological safety, and sustainable pace.
