Job summary

General Motors is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the team building GM’s Commercial eCommerce platform. You will drive the technical roadmap, translate business requirements into robust systems, and oversee end-to-end delivery across monetization domains including product catalog, billing, and payments.

You will collaborate with Product, Design, and Business leaders to deliver foundational services enabling product teams to launch and monetize rapidly, within a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software development, product building, or similar domains.
• 3+ years in engineering management.
• Experience leading the software development lifecycle (SDLC) using industry-standard best practices.
• Expertise designing fault-tolerant, event-driven architectures with idempotent APIs and durable logs.
• Deep experience integrating core services with payment processors, tax automation, and enterprise ERPs.
• Experience defining strict SLIs/SLOs for mission-critical financial paths and delivering operational wins.
• Ability to bridge digital software, regulated hardware, and complex physical operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a full-stack engineering team with mentorship and career growth.
• Lead the development of GM Commercial eCommerce roadmap.
• Lead cross-functional meetings to drive issue resolution and support design discussions.
• Be technically involved with the team, shaping designs, architectures, and participating in code reviews and post-mortems.
