Job summary

General Motors seeks a Senior Engineering Manager for Commercial Software in a hybrid role based in Warren, Michigan (with possible Sunnyvale, CA collaboration). You will shape strategy, lead multiple engineering teams, and drive APIs, data platforms, and security across OnStar and related products.

You will partner with product, data, infrastructure, and enterprise teams to deliver reliable software, improve adoption and revenue, and build leadership capacity for a fast-evolving software

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a technical field.
• Extensive software engineering leadership and strategic planning experience.
• Strong communication and collaboration across multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Define and communicate the engineering strategy, roadmap, and operating plan for Commercial OnStar products and Commercial APIs.
• Lead multiple engineering teams through managers and senior technical leaders with clear ownership and priorities.
• Drive improvements in adoption, revenue, onboarding, API usage, data quality, and service reliability.
• Guide architecture, modernization, debt reduction, production readiness, observability, and incident response.
• Represent Commercial Software Engineering in executive discussions and major customer engagements.
