Job summary

Zions Bancorporation is seeking an Engineering Manager for Server Operating Systems to lead a team responsible for Linux and Windows platform engineering. The role focuses on moving from traditional on-prem to cloud-native systems using IaC, automation, and strong governance.

You will partner with Enterprise Architects, Information Security, and business stakeholders to ensure secure, compliant, and resilient compute services while guiding staff performance and development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
• 6+ years’ experience with server operating systems (Linux/Windows), cloud platforms, and modern IaC (Terraform, Ansible).
• Strong written and verbal communication suitable for senior stakeholders, vendors and teams.
• Experience with vendor management and OS license management.
• Exposure to both waterfall and Agile delivery methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team in support of critical business functions and drive execution of infrastructure initiatives.
• Shift from on-prem to cloud-native platform engineering using IaC and automation.
• Ensure solutions meet stakeholder requirements with secure, compliant platforms.
• Direct platform engineering for core OS (Linux and Windows) in collaboration with architecture teams.
• Develop team capabilities, manage performance, and align with department OKRs.
• Oversee vendor relationships and total cost of ownership for the platform.
• Serve as de facto POPM within an Agile/Kanban delivery system.
