Job summary

Robinhood is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Credit Cards & Banking product area within Money Engineering. You will guide a team of engineers, shape the roadmap with product, design, data, compliance, and operations, and deliver customer-facing financial products at scale.

Based in Menlo Park, CA or New York, NY, with in-person work five days a week, you will hire, coach, and develop talent while maintaining high standards for reliability, security, and user trust.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2+ years of experience managing engineering teams.
• Experience leading teams that build and ship customer-facing products at scale.
• Strong technical judgment and the ability to partner closely on architecture, tradeoffs, and execution.
• Experience working on complex distributed systems, backend services, or full-stack consumer products.
• A track record of driving cross-functional initiatives from concept through launch.
• Experience coaching and developing engineers through regular feedback, performance management, and career growth.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical partner(s).
• A high bar for execution, product quality, and building strong teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead, grow, and support a team of software engineers working on Robinhood’s Credit Cards & Banking product area.
• Set clear direction for the team across execution, technical design, and people development.
• Partner with product managers, designers, and cross-functional stakeholders to define roadmaps and deliver high-impact customer experiences.
• Drive the architecture, execution, and operational excellence needed to build reliable, scalable card and banking systems.
• Guide engineering decisions across product surfaces, backend services, and platform dependencies.
• Improve team health and effectiveness through strong planning, prioritization, feedback, and career development.
• Hire exceptional engineers and raise the bar on talent, performance, and engineering craftsmanship.
• Help the team move quickly while maintaining high standards for quality, reliability, and customer trust.
