Job summary

Amentum is building a high-impact engineering team to lead a full-scale launch test program. The manager will establish the organization, cadence, and execution discipline across design, fabrication, and activation of test sites.

The role demands deep technical expertise in testing, controls, data acquisition, and rapid prototyping, plus proven leadership in building teams, driving execution, and delivering complex programs in dynamic environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of progressive engineering experience focused on testing, test infrastructure, or R&D environments.
• Minimum of 3–5 years in an engineering leadership or management role.
• Experience standing up or activating a new technical activity and leading test planning, execution, and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Stand up and activate a multi-disciplinary engineering team with defined roles and cadence.
• Lead regular office stand-ups and execution reviews for alignment and issue resolution.
• Mentor engineers across disciplines through the full lifecycle of a one-of-a-kind test site.
• Coordinate cross-functional collaboration between engineering, operations, and program management.
• Direct design, fabrication, installation, and activation for full-scale launch test sites.
