Job summary

Stripe is seeking an Engineering Manager for Billing Configuration to own the operational and technical direction of platforms that model, customize, and evolve how billing works. You will lead the team building the foundational configuration layer for Stripe Billing, enabling flexible products, pricing, eligibility, entitlements, and billing behavior.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of engineering management experience leading teams of 5+ engineers.
• 8+ years of full-time software development experience.
• Track record of leading engineering teams responsible for high-traffic, low-latency, and extensible systems.
• Deep user empathy with a history of working backwards from internal and external customer needs.
• Proven ability to drive rigorous decision-making and build strong partnerships across teams.
• Ability to handle ambiguity, creatively solve complex challenges, and execute on competing high-impact priorities.
• Demonstrated focus on system reliability, operational health, and incident response.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team responsible for the core architecture needed to enable billing configuration complexity and extensibility
• Own the technical strategy and roadmap for billing configuration
• Drive operational excellence across billing infrastructure systems
• Hire and develop engineers as the team expands into new scope
• Partner with stakeholders across organizations to deliver billing solutions
• Work backwards from internal and external customer needs to define priorities and scope
