Job summary

PlusAI in Silicon Valley is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Simulation & Verification team to lead the development and scaling of our autonomous driving simulation platform. You will orchestrate infrastructure, tools, and workflows for safe, efficient virtual testing of autonomous trucks.

This role sits at the intersection of infrastructure engineering, robotics simulation, and data analytics, enabling our AV roadmap and cross-functional collaboration with Planning, Perception, Control

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software engineering with 2+ years in engineering management.
• Proven experience in autonomous driving, robotics, or complex system simulation.
• Proficiency with simulation tools (Carla, Unreal Engine, or custom simulator).
• Deep experience with backend technologies (Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL) and frontend frameworks (React, Vite).
• Strong cloud-based development (AWS), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD orchestration (Jenkins).
• Data pipelines handling high-volume simulation data, ingestion, storage, and visualization.
• Excellent communication to bridge engineering needs and stakeholder requirements.

Responsibilities

• Platform Leadership: Drive the evolution of the simulation platform for higher throughput, metrics, and scaling.
• Team Development: Lead software engineers and validation engineers, mentor staff, hire and foster excellence.
• Simulation Strategy: Develop advanced simulation capabilities including high-fidelity sensor simulation and synthetic scenario generation.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Planning, Perception, Control, and Safety to integrate results across the lifecycle.
• Infrastructure Excellence: Optimize CI/CD workflows and manage resources for regression testing and on-demand experiments.
• Process & Quality: Implement rigorous quality workflows for scenario management and benchmark systems.
