Job summary

PlusAI in Silicon Valley is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Simulation & Verification team to scale our autonomous driving simulation platform. You will lead a team of software engineers and validation engineers, owning CI/CD, data verification tools, and scenario creation to support the AV roadmap.

This role involves collaborating with Planning, Perception, Control, and Safety teams, driving high-quality tooling, and ensuring efficient testing in virtual environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software engineering, with at least 2+ years in an engineering management role.
• Proven experience in autonomous driving, robotics, or complex system simulation.
• Strong backend experience with Python, FastAPI, and PostgreSQL; frontend with React and Vite.
• Experience in cloud environments (AWS), containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and CI/CD orchestration (Jenkins).
• Ability to build data pipelines handling high-volume simulation data and visualize results.
• Effective communicator capable of aligning engineering with stakeholder needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead the evolution of the simulation platform to increase throughput, metrics, and scaling.
• Manage a team of software engineers and software validation engineers focused on simulation infrastructure and CI/CD.
• Oversee development of high-fidelity sensor simulation, fleet data replay, and synthetic scenarios.
• Collaborate with Planning, Perception, Control, and Safety to integrate results into the development lifecycle.
• Optimize CI/CD workflows and allocate resources for regression testing and on-demand experiments.
• Implement quality workflows for scenario management and standardize metrics.
