Forus, based in New York, seeks an Engineering Manager to lead a team building AI-powered systems that get patients on therapy. You’ll write code, review designs, and make architecture calls while owning team composition, speed, and impact on providers and patients.

The role combines hands-on engineering with strategic leadership, guiding three teams—Pharma, Provider, and Core Operations—to deliver high-value outcomes in a fast-paced, autonomous environment.

Qualifications

• 6+ years building software with a track record of shipping products users depend on.
• 2+ years leading engineers with ownership of delivery and team health.
• Full-stack range: backend and frontend with credible cross-stack calls.
• Strong hiring track record for engineers who joined due to your role.
• Ability to turn ambiguous business problems into clear, shipped solutions.
• Proven ability to move quickly, find shortcuts, and deliver on goals.
• High NPS with former teammates and reports.

Responsibilities

• Own your team’s outcomes end to end, from problem definition to launch and measured impact.
• Stay hands-on, write and review production code, lead architecture decisions, handle tough problems.
• Hire, source, sell, close, and onboard engineers; own team bar and recruiting as a core responsibility.
• Grow and mentor engineers; set expectations, give feedback, and raise performance.
• Work directly with providers, biopharma partners, and operations to understand user needs.
• Raise the ceiling on AI integration and push for productive, innovative software development.
