Job summary

Courier Health seeks an engineering manager to lead a 4-7 person team focused on key platform areas, reporting to a Director of Engineering. You will own planning, reviews, and delivery, partnering with Product to drive impact while maintaining PHI security and HIPAA compliance. This is an office-based role in NYC, with a collaborative, fast-paced culture.

You will mentor engineers, shape team rituals, and help scale the platform for enterprise biopharma customers in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years as an engineering manager leading 4-7 direct reports.
• 10+ years in software engineering with hands-on review of designs and code.
• Experience hiring, delivering feedback, and promoting team members.
• Established team rituals: planning, estimation, retros, and on-call.
• Shipped end-to-end with a Product partner and measurable outcomes.
• Experience leading teams through rapid growth at an early-stage company.
• Experience with production cloud systems: TS/Node, React, GraphQL, AWS, PostgreSQL.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 4-7 engineers and own a portion of the product.
• Own sprint planning, estimation, demos, and retros; flag risks early.
• Collaborate with Product and PM to align roadmap and delivery.
• Review designs, unblock engineers, and participate in incidents.
• Ensure reliability: testing, observability, on-call, and incident response.
• Partner with Product on roadmap and trade-offs; manage scope and cost.
• Champion AI tooling adoption and measure impact on velocity.
