Job summary

Liberty Mutual Insurance in the United States is seeking an Engineering Manager for the US Retail Market Architecture to lead Accelerator, a team building reusable assets and frameworks that drive standards, measure fitness, and accelerate delivery.

You will mentor engineers, partner with Product Owner and Architect, and champion modern cloud and AI-enabled practices while delivering measurable impact across enterprise teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience managing teams that use Agile Scrum.
• Working knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or Google Cloud) and cloud-native architecture.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and how AI is changing engineering practices.
• Experience driving adoption of architecture standards across multiple teams.
• Ability to set a clear vision, mission and strategy for a team.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Track record of coaching engineers and building inclusive, high-trust teams.
• Strong analytical skills and sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Accelerator team and develop reusable assets, libraries and tutorials that enforce architecture standards.
• Promote modern cloud engineering practices, including cloud-native design, automation, CI/CD and infrastructure as code.
• Define KPIs with stakeholders and align work to product goals.
• Mentor and coach engineers, conduct performance reviews and support professional development.
• Collaborate with Product Owner, Scrum Master and Architect to ensure delivery quality and impact.
• Remove roadblocks and manage dependencies across teams.
• Champion AI-enabled engineering practices to speed delivery.
