Job summary

Liberty Mutual Insurance is seeking an Engineering Manager for USRM Architecture to lead Accelerator, a team building reusable assets and frameworks that promote architecture standards across the organization. You will drive strategy, mentor engineers, and champion modern cloud and AI-enabled practices.

The role emphasizes partnership with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and Architects, delivery accountability, and continuous learning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 10+ years of software engineering experience
• Experience managing teams that use Agile Scrum
• Working knowledge of a major cloud platform (AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform) and cloud-native architecture
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and an understanding of how AI is changing engineering practices and solution delivery
• Experience driving adoption of architecture standards, platforms or shared engineering practices across multiple teams
• Ability to set a clear vision, mission and strategy for a team and rally others around it
• Passion for advancing engineering practices and helping teams adopt the approaches that work best
• Strong communication, influence and stakeholder management skills
• Track record of coaching engineers and building inclusive, high-trust teams
• Strong analytical skills and sound judgment, with the ability to build consensus across cross-functional stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Define reusable assets and standards that speed adoption of USRM architecture standards.
• Promote AI-enabled engineering practices to speed delivery and improve outcomes.
• Champion cloud-native design, automation, CI/CD and infrastructure as code.
• Measure adherence to architecture standards and define next steps for teams.
• Partner with Product Owner, Scrum Master and Architect to align work with product goals and KPIs.
• Mentor and coach engineers, remove roadblocks, and support professional development.
