Job summary

Pearson is seeking an experienced engineering manager to lead Data Foundations modernization, guiding the migration from legacy .NET to modern React/TypeScript and AWS-based services. You will own delivery across multiple teams, ensure guardrails, and drive AI-enabled capabilities with rigorous evaluation and governance.

In this role you will partner with Product, Security, Compliance, and DevOps across Pearson to protect continuity for current platform consumers while delivering scalable,

Qualifications

• Working engineering leader with AI-fluent background and strong governance
• Experience delivering model-backed or agentic capabilities to users
• Experience managing across legacy and target platforms while shipping
• Familiarity with data contracts, quality gates, and observability

Responsibilities

• Own planning, prioritization, and delivery commitments for your team and its operating rhythm.
• Allocate people to work, manage escalations, and resolve blockers quickly and transparently
• Recommend and land process improvements rather than escalating the same friction twice
• Hire against AI-fluent engineering bar and maintain it when the pipeline is thin
• Lead overall engineering delivery for Data Foundations across roadmap, migration sequencing, and coordination with stakeholders
