Job summary

WelbeHealth is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager in California to lead production-grade solutions on Azure with a .NET stack. You will combine hands-on engineering leadership with strategic technical ownership, guiding architecture, code quality, and delivery for healthcare systems.

You will partner with cross-functional teams, enforce DevSecOps and HIPAA compliance, and drive AI-assisted engineering across high-impact initiatives while mentoring a growing engineering team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required; master’s preferred.
• Minimum of ten years of object-oriented software development experience with C#, .NET Core, and React.js.
• Minimum of four years of supervisory experience.
• Deep Azure cloud experience with API Apps, Logic Apps, Functions, REST services, and Cosmos DB.
• Experience designing and delivering microservices at scale.
• Strong DevSecOps principles with security built into code, CI/CD, and cloud from the start.
• Experience with AI-assisted engineering tools and LLM-based tooling.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments with iterative delivery.
• BPM experience with Camunda preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design components, write high-quality code, troubleshoot complex issues, and own the team’s technical roadmap.
• Build scalable, cloud-native solutions on Azure using microservices and .NET.
• Drive adoption of AI-assisted coding and establish secure code review standards.
• Own engineering practices for AI-backed features including PHI-safe design and logging.
• Collaborate with Product, Architecture, Cloud, Security, and other teams to define integration strategies.
• Translate complex designs into clear communication for non-technical stakeholders.
• Ensure development aligns with HIPAA and healthcare interoperability requirements.
• Implement secure software design patterns, RBAC, data governance, encryption, and cloud controls.
• Manage direct reports including hiring, mentoring, and removing barriers.
