Job summary

WelbeHealth is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead architecture and delivery of production-grade solutions for healthcare systems. The role blends hands-on engineering with people leadership, mentoring engineers, and setting engineering standards to scale the organization.

You will collaborate with Product, Architecture, Cloud, Security, and other teams to define integration strategies and blueprints, while driving secure, scalable, high-performing systems aligned with the PACE model.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum ten (10) years of object-oriented software development experience with C#, .NET Core, and React.js on the front end.

The Engineering Manager is a hands-on technical leader responsible for driving the delivery of production-grade solutions partnering with multiple teams. This role mirrors technical leadership, engineering rigor serving as the technical anchor for a dedicated team/multiple teams while enabling broader organizational scaling. The Engineering Manager will architect solutions, mentor engineers, build Proof-of-Concepts, enforce engineering excellence, and ensure secure, compliant, scalable, and high-performing systems aligned with healthcare and organizational standards. He/she will also Collaborates effectively with colleagues and stakeholders to promote WelbeHealth values, team culture and mission

On the day-to-day, you will:

Technical Leadership & Hands-On Engineering

Lead end-to-end architecture, development, and delivery technical solution for internal and external healthcare systems; Act as the senior-most engineer for the team: designing components, writing high-quality code, troubleshooting complex issues, and performing rigorous code reviews

Collaborate with Product, Architecture, Cloud, Security, and other engineering teams to define integration strategies and solution blueprints

Leadership & Execution

Demonstrated ability to lead engineers in fast-paced, high-impact environments. Strong decision making, solution-first mindset, and ability to break down complex problems

Excellent communication skills for working with both technical and business stakeholders; General passion for building secure, scalable, high-performing distributed systems.

AI

Drive adoption of AI-assisted coding across the team - establish how engineers use agentic development tools for scaffolding, refactoring, test generation, and legacy code comprehension, define the code review standards that keep generated code secure and maintainable, and hold the bar on engineering judgment rather than volume of output

Own the engineering practices for building AI-backed features - context and retrieval design over WelbeHealth data, evaluation and monitoring, PHI-safe prompting and logging, and the human review points

Business Acumen

Engage business and clinical end users directly - sit in on their workflows, build real fluency in the PACE model, and translate what you learn into technical direction the team can act on, including pushing back when a simpler solution serves participants better

Job requirements include:

• Bachelor's Degree in relevant field, Master's Degree preferred.
• Minimum Ten (10) years of object-oriented software development experience with C#, .NET Core, and React.js on the front end.
• Four (4) years supervisory experience with demonstrated ability to mentor and develop team members
• Deep Azure cloud experience, including API Apps, Logic Apps, Functions, REST services and Azure Cosmos DB
• Experience designing and delivering microservices architecture at scale
• Strong engineering DevSecOps principles, with security built into code, CI/CD, and cloud from the start
• Automated testing discipline and experience designing REST APIs and solutions that span multiple data sources; Hands-on experience with AI-assisted engineering tools and practices, such as LLM-based developer tooling, code generation, and workflow automation.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with iterative development cycles and rapid proof-of-concept delivery.
• Business process management (BPM) experience with Camunda preferred
