Job summary

FreeWheel, a Comcast company, is seeking a Manager, Software Engineering to lead the Buyercloud Ad Serving team. The Ad Serving system processes billions of ad auctions daily and executes complex bidding strategies at low latency.

You will manage engineers, set technical direction, collaborate with product management, improve infrastructure, and ensure delivery within deadlines and budgets while mentoring your team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in CS/Engineering or related field.
• 5–7 years of related work experience.
• Experience building distributed applications in OO languages (C++, Java, Rust, Go).
• Experience deploying applications in a public cloud.
• Proficient in Jira, Confluence, Git, and MS Office.
• AWS certification is a bonus.
• Strong SQL skills.
• Experience with Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of software engineers with direction and growth opportunities.
• Collaborate with BuyerCloud Product Management to deliver features.
• Provide architectural guidance and engineering practices for the team.
• Drive improvements to Ad Serving software infrastructure.
• Ensure deadlines, specifications, and budgets are met.
• Review team work to ensure quality and conformity to standards.
• Provide technical support and training in Ad Serving capabilities.
• Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies.
