Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in Palmdale, CA is seeking a Manager Engineering 2 for Support Equipment to lead a team of design engineers and drive procurement and process improvements on critical equipment used across programs.

The role requires a STEM degree with extensive engineering experience, an active Secret clearance, SAP access, and the ability to work on-site with up to 25% travel; a strong track record in leading cross-functional teams is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline with 9+ years of related engineering experience; OR Master’s with 7+ years; OR PhD with 5+ years.
• Experience in design engineering.
• Active U.S. Government Secret clearance (with BI within past 6 years or Continuous Evaluation).
• Ability to obtain initial SAP access via a PAR before employment.
• Ability to obtain subsequent SAP PARs after commencement.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of design engineers creating/identifying/maintaining support equipment.
• Guide engineers in career development and gain skills critical to success.
• Interact with leadership and customer stakeholders to improve the efficiency and cost effectiveness of support equipment processes and procurement.
• The selected candidate will work full-time on-site with up to 25% travel.
