Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Manager Manufacturing Engineering 3 to lead manufacturing within Palmdale, CA. This role oversees process design, equipment layouts, and production optimization for assemblies and tooling, with opportunities across first or second shift and a collaborative team environment.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree with 7 years of experience (or a Master’s with 5 years) in production manufacturing, plus 3 years of management and an active DoD Secret

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of engineering experience in production assembly/fabrication including composites, metallic, coatings application, and/or production manufacturing.
• 3 years of prior management experience in related field.
• Active DoD Secret security clearance (US Citizenship required) and ability to obtain/maintain Program Special Access.

Responsibilities

• Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling.
• Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure efficient and productive layout.
• Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions affecting product performance.
• Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions; inspects performance and initiates corrective actions to ensure quality.
• Develops manufacturing processes applicable to statistical process control and may develop those techniques.
• Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
• Ensures processes and procedures comply with regulations.
