Job summary

Sage in Atlanta is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a talented software team building AI-powered financial capabilities within our flagship cloud accounting platform.

You will shape delivery, coach engineers, partner with product, design and stakeholders, and own end-to-end delivery across multiple workstreams in a hybrid model three days on-site in Atlanta.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and grow a team of software engineers — including hiring, coaching, and performance development.

• Own end-to-end accountability for engineering delivery across your team's product areas.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and engineering peers to align on roadmap and execution.
• Identify and resolve cross-team dependencies, risks, and blockers proactively.
• Contribute to technical strategy and architectural decisions alongside senior engineers.
• Build a strong team culture focused on quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Represent the engineering team in stakeholder discussions and cross-functional planning forums.

We are currently seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a talented team of engineers in delivering innovative, AI-powered financial capabilities within our flagship cloud accounting platform.

As an Engineering Manager at Sage, you will lead and develop a high-performing engineering team while partnering with Product, Design, and Engineering stakeholders to deliver high-quality software. You'll provide technical and people leadership, helping to shape strategy, drive execution, and deliver impactful outcomes across multiple workstreams.

Please note that this role is hybrid and requires working 3 days a week from our Atlanta office.

Requirements

• Engineering Manager experience leading software teams
• Strong people leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills
• Demonstrated success delivering AI-powered products or customer-facing AI solutions
• Experience delivering enterprise software in Agile environments
• Ability to lead distributed teams and balance technical, strategic, and operational responsibilities

Preferred

• Background in ERP, accounting, fintech, or financial software
• Familiarity with platforms such as Sage Intacct, NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle
• Knowledge of PHP, Java, APIs, distributed systems, and AI integrations
