Job summary

Sage City is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a talented team delivering AI-powered financial capabilities within our flagship cloud accounting platform. This hybrid role requires three days on our Atlanta office and collaboration with Product, Design, and Engineering stakeholders to drive strategy and execution.

You will hire and coach engineers, own delivery cadences, unblock cross-team work, and guide architectural decisions to deliver high-quality software across key workstreams.

Qualifications

• Engineering manager experience leading software teams.
• Strong people leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated success delivering AI-powered products or customer-facing AI solutions.
• Experience delivering enterprise software in Agile environments.
• Ability to lead distributed teams and balance technical, strategic, and operational responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and grow a team of software engineers — including hiring, coaching, and performance development.
• Drive the team's delivery cadence, establishing clear processes, priorities, and ways of working.
• Own end-to-end accountability for engineering delivery across your team's product areas.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and engineering peers to align on roadmap and execution.
• Identify and resolve cross-team dependencies, risks, and blockers proactively.
• Contribute to technical strategy and architectural decisions alongside senior engineers.
• Build a strong team culture focused on quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Represent the engineering team in stakeholder discussions and cross-functional planning forums.
